My Story
Hello all,
My name is Brent Hensley, and I’ve been a resident of Jasper County for most of my life. I got my start at a young age helping my dad, Danny Hensley, at the Joplin Stockyards. After high school, I began my career in the funeral industry at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, eventually becoming a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, a role I held for 13 years. My career then shifted to retail, where I spent 10 years as part of the management team for Target Corporation. After many years in the private sector, I moved into public service, working for the Missouri Department of Agriculture in Consumer Protection for 15 years before retiring in June 2024. I am now back in the funeral industry, returning to where my professional journey began. With over 40 years of experience across both private and public sectors, I’ve gained a wide range of skills and real-life experiences that have shaped me into a stronger person. I’ve always considered myself in the “people business,” and now I’m ready to serve the citizens of Jasper County as your Recorder of Deeds. From supporting families through loss in the funeral business, to managing sensitive HR matters in retail, to ensuring fairness in Weights and Measures for the state, I’ve always worked to serve others with care and integrity.
On a personal note, my wife, Karensue, and I have raised our children to be loving, kind, and hardworking. We are active members of our church, where Karensue serves as Pastor, and our children were raised in a faith-filled and supportive environment.
Please consider supporting me as your Jasper County Recorder of Deeds candidate and I will be honored to serve our wonderful County in this position. I have met with our current Recorder of Deeds, Mrs. Charlotte Pickering to visit with her about her accomplishments and things she would like to see continue or ideas for the future all of which are very important to her legacy and future success for me as a candidate for her office.
May God Bless each one and bless our wonderful County.
Yours Truly,
Brent Hensley
